The Mumbai Police, probing the incident of firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, said the conspiracy was hatched more than six months ago.
During questioning of the two accused, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, police found they were contacted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in last September in connection with the firing.
“The duo from Bihar was working in Haryana where Sagar came in contact with the gang in September, which means the plan was hatched over six months ago,” said a police officer.
Further, the crime branch of the Mumbai Police on Saturday named incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi and the Bishnoi gang as wanted accused in the case. Hours after the attack outside Salman Khan’s residence on April 14, Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the firing via a Facebook post.
“Apart from the post, the police, while analysising the mobile phones of the arrested accused, found that they were directly in touch with Anmol who was guiding them,” said the police officer. Police further added Sections 115 ( abetment of offence punishable with death), 201 (destruction of evidence) and 506(2) (criminal intimidation) of the IPC in the case.
An officer said that they are checking apart from Anmol, who else assisted the two arrested accused in the case. Police are questioning the younger brother of Vicky Gupta in connection with the case. The arrested duo will be in police custody till April 25.
In the past, Salman Khan has been on the radar of the Bishnoi gang for allegedly hunting a blackbuck in 1998 in Rajasthan during a movie shooting. Black buck is considered holy by the Bishnoi community.
