FIR sought against Tawde for ‘declaring false educational qualifications’

Tawde recently landed in a controversy after reports surfaced that his BE (Electronics) degree was bogus and the institute he had obtained it from is not recognised by the government.

A Jogeshwari resident, Asad Patel, has approached the Borivali police and submitted an application seeking an FIR against state Education Minister Vinod Tawde under the Representation of the People Act for allegedly declaring false educational qualifications.

Tawde recently landed in a controversy after reports surfaced that his BE (Electronics) degree was bogus and the institute he had obtained it from is not recognised by the government.

“We are seeking legal opinion before we decide on further course of action,” said Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Dhananjay Kulkarni.
