Expect occasional rain today

Occasional spells of rain are expected in the city on Tuesday,said the Met department. After the season’s highest rainfall (185.3 mm) yet in the 24 hours from September 3 to 4,the city has received only light to moderate rain.

Over the weekend,IMD’s Santacruz weather station recorded 63.1 mm,while Colaba recorded 34.4 mm. On Monday,Colaba recorded no rain between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm,while Santacruz recorded only 1.2 mm.

“There is an upper air cyclonic circulation over Odisha which will bring rain to Maharashtra. However,it will not be heavy,” said Ajay Kumar,Director,IMD. The Konkan region is likely to get heavy spells.

Meanwhile,maximum temperature in Colaba increased to 32 degrees,up from 30.3 previous day,while Santacruz recorded a marginal from drop 31.6 degrees to 30.6 degrees.
