Top seeds Siddhanth Banthia of Pune and Kritika Chabra of Mumbai helped themselves to a double crown,in the JS Pereira Memorial Talent Series All India Ranking Junior Tennis Tournament,organized by the Bandra Gymkhana.
Banthia cruised to a 6-2,6-2 victory over fourth seed Dhruv Sunish of Mumbai for his maiden under-14 title,and added the under-12 crown with a 7-5,6-1 win over second seed and city mate Piyush Salekar,after crucial breaks in the fifth and 11th games of the opening set.
In both finals I capitalized on the errors of my opponents. Against Piyush,I started poorly,but recovered after I settled down, said Banthia.
Chabra fashioned contrasting victories as she overcame second seed Mahak Jain of Vashi 7-6 (7-4),7-6 (8-6) in a thrilling girls under-12 final. As an unseeded player,Chabra shocked third seed Auxillium Convent lass Prachi Naidu of Pune 6-1,6-2 for the under-14 title. Chabra,of Arya Vidya Mandir,Juhu registered her third win over Jain of Avlon International,Vashi after earlier winning the Goregaon Sports Club and AITA Kalina titles.

Mumbais Karen Kenneth Pais and Valencia Henry Mascarenhas have been selected to represent the India U-13 Girls Football Team in the AFC U-13 Girls Football Tournament which will be held at Colombo,Sri Lanka from March 9th to 14th.
