A 60-year-old woman and her granddaughter were found murdered in their Antop Hill flat on Friday evening.

A 60-year-old woman and her granddaughter were found murdered in their Antop Hill flat on Friday evening. Police said it was the womans daughter,Sheetal,who found the bodies of Ranjana Nagrekar and three-year-old Vaishnavi Raykar at their Indira Nagar flat when she returned from work. Valuables and cash were missing from the house,suggesting a robbery angle. The police are investigating the case.

Body found at Marine Drive

The body of a man,aged around 35 years,was found at Marine Drive on Friday afternoon. Black threads were tied around the neck,right hand and left leg. The body is quite decomposed so further details about the physical structure cannot be made. The body has been sent for autopsy, said the investigation officer at Marine Drive police station.

Four murder suspects absconding

The Santacruz police is on the lookout for four persons charged with attempt to murder. The accused,identified as Abubakar Sheikh,Rehman Sheikh,Terrence Rodrigues and Naushaad,allegedly attempted to murder Abdul Sayyad (42). According to police sources,Sayyads brother had complained to the Vakola police about some issues with a mosque. To avenge this,the suspects ran their car over Sayyad and attacked him with a chopper. He is being treated at Bandras Bhabha Hospital.
