Mumbai Cricket Association president Amol Kale dies of cardiac arrest in New York

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale passed away in New York due to cardiac arrest. He had travelled to the United States to watch the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup game in New York along with MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat.

Kale, 47, was elected as MCA president in 2022. He defeated former India batsman Sandeep Patil for the top post.

Kale, who hailed from Nagpur, was a close associate of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The notable decisions the MCA took under his tenure were doubling the fees of domestic players and erecting a statue of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Kale was also a member of Tirupati Balaji Devasthan Trust in Andhra Pradesh for three years in a row. He played a key role in finding land for Lord Shri Venkateswara Temple at Ulwe in Navi Mumbai.
