Constable among 2 held for raping girl

Senior Police Inspector Surendra Paithankar of Goregaon PS said,“The victim lives in with one Sunny Singh of Khar. On October 2 night,after an argument,she left in a huff and went to a hookah joint.”

A woman,Krutika,invited her to join her group that comprised Madne,Ali and another youth. Later that night,she was invited to join Krutika and friends at her residence. They left in two autorickshaws,but on the way there was a change in plan and they decided to go to Manori village,where they reached around 7 am the next day. “The group apparently booked a cottage at Manori village. Ali and Madne allegedly dragged the victim into a room and raped her. When Krutika came to know of it she took the victim to her house,” said an officer with Gorai police station.

After a few days,Ali telephoned her to meet him or face dire consequences and she registered the complaint on Thursday night,police said. Police sources revealed that Madne,attached to the Local Arms Unit-4 at Marol,has been on sick-leave for the past year-and-a-half. The victim was sent to Nagpada police hospital for medical examination. Police are inquiring further.
