Improv Comedy Mumbai is the first Indian group to perform at an international improv festival
For two years,Improv Comedy Mumbai (ICM) has been performing to packed houses in Indias major cities and making audiences laugh with their unscripted scenes, games and monologues. The efforts have paid off with the troupe being selected to perform at Improv Amsterdam in January. ICM will be performing alongside groups from the US,the UK,Argentina,Spain and the Netherlands. There have been similarities drawn between ICM and the popular TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway, owing to the format it follows.
ICM,the first Indian group to be invited to an international Improv Festival, was started by US-born Adam Dow in 2009. Since then,it has grown to 15 members and performed at a number of bars and clubs around Mumbai including Zenzi and Cafe Goa. Improvisation is often used abroad for team-building and Dow too holds corporate workshops in improv comedy for those interested.
