Hunt on for drowned man

The Marine Drive police and Fire Brigade were called in to rescue a man aged between 25 and 30,who went missing after venturing into the sea on Friday afternoon. The police said the unidentified man was sitting on the rocks at Marine Drive. Unaware of the approaching high tide,he ventured into the waters and started drowning. As he struggled to stay afloat,a passerby saw him and alerted the police and Fire Brigade. A rescue operation was started,but he could not be traced until evening.

Minor raped in Vile Parle

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the Shastri Nagar area of Vile Parle east on Thursday afternoon. The girl told the police that the incident occurred when she was returning home after her tuitions. The culprit approached her saying he was her fathers friend and a watchman. The man then took her to a terrace nearby and allegedly raped her at knifepoint. The girl escaped after a struggle,reached home and informed her parents. The police have launched a hunt for the man.
