The Bombay High Court on Monday issued a deadline of July 4 to Industries Minister Narayan Rane to file his reply to a PIL stating that he illegally converted 39.25 acres of farm land belonging to Chitleshwar Devasthan Trust at Sinnar in Nashik district.

The Bombay High Court on Monday issued a deadline of July 4 to Industries Minister Narayan Rane to file his reply to a PIL stating that he illegally converted 39.25 acres of farm land belonging to Chitleshwar Devasthan Trust at Sinnar in Nashik district. A Division Bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice D G Karnik was hearing a petition filed by Sinnar resident Sanjay Deshpande alleging that Rane,in his capacity as revenue minister,did not have powers to release the land. “The order brought the land,which did not even come under the Revenue department’s jurisdiction,into tax bracket and facilitated its sale by some relatives of the trustees,” Deshpande said,adding the plot was sold within five days of order.

Agents oppose postal scheme at RTO

The agents dealing with driving licenses and vehicle registrations created ruckus at the Tardeo Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Monday morning,opposing the new policy of issuing these documents through the postal service. RTO (Central) Madhukar Jadhav said the agents were opposing the new scheme as it was creating the impediments in their daily working. He said the present delay in the scheme would be solved at the earliest.
