Free 80-yr-old,10-yr term is illegal: HC
The High Court today ordered the release of an 80-year-old man who has already spent seven years in jail,saying his 10-year sentence is illegal. Arrested for alleged possession of drugs,Abdul Gaffar Tota Patel has been in jail since 2002 but the court observed that the offence at that time attracted a maximum punishment of five years.

Push for airport in Kalyan,not Navi Mumbai
Bhiwandi and Palghar MPs Suresh Kashinath Taware and Baliram Jadhav have written jointly to Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh to consider Maharashtra’s proposed new international airport at village Nevale in Kalyan district,rather than Navi Mumbai.
