The case for the confirmation of 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab’s death sentence is likely to be listed for hearing in the Bombay High Court on August 2,public prosecutor P A Pol said. Kasab’s lawyers plan to file an appeal by the first week of August. The government is in the process of filing an appeal against the acquittal of Sabahuddin Ahmed and Fahim Ansari.

10 who ‘stripped’ Dalit woman granted bail
A special court today granted bail to ten persons arrested under the Prevention of Atrocities Act for stripping and parading a 22-year-old Dalit girl in Sewree last month. Special judge C K Bhedi granted them bail on a bond of Rs 3,000 each after the police said they would soon file the chargesheet. On June 17,a group of 25 to 30 women along with a few men forcibly entered the woman’s house,tore her clothes and dragged her out,allegedly to teach the family a lesson after her brother was picked up in connection with the rape of a minor.

City airport rated best in India,fourth in world
The Mumbai airport has been rated the best in India among airports with over 15 million passengers a year (mppa) in the Airport Service Quality survey by the Airport Council International in the second quarter of 2010. It was ranked fourth among all airports globally in 15-25 mppa category,MIAL said.
