Water cut will be reviewed today
The civic body will review the water situation in the city Friday and decide on the ongoing water cuts. The BMC had imposed a 15 per cent cut in supply in August last year after a weak monsoon. “Following the review and due deliberations a decision will be made on whether to increase or decrease the water cut or to continue with the existing 15 per cent water cut,” said deputy municipal commissioner Dinesh Gondaliya. An official said the cuts are likely to continue till the end of monsoon.

7/11: panch witness tells court he knew Ansari
A panch witness,who was with the ATS when they arrested Kamal Ansari for the 2006 serial train blast,has informed the special court that he knew Ansari and his shop was below Ansari’s house. During cross examination by defence lawyer R B Mokashi the witness informed the court that he was lodged at the ATS guest house in Kalachowkie and an officer had come to receive him when he came to the city from Bihar. On the day when the ATS arrested the accused the witness was called to act as a panch witness. The police seized a packet of powder and two mobile phones from Ansari in the presence of the witness. Mokashi suggested the agency influenced the witness,who was with the ATS,to depose falsely against the accused.
