Chief postmaster general gets bail in graft case

Manjit Singh Bali,the chief postmaster general of Maharashtra and Goa arrested on graft charges,was granted bail on Friday by a sessions court on a surety of Rs 1 lakh.

Manjit Singh Bali,the chief postmaster general of Maharashtra and Goa arrested on graft charges,was granted bail on Friday by a sessions court on a surety of Rs 1 lakh. The other accused,Arun and Harsh Dalmiya,were also granted bail.

The CBI arrested Bali and the two accused on February 25 for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 crore to issue an NOC for construction of a plot in Thane.

The accused were granted bail on the condition that they would not leave the city until the investigation was complete and would be available for investigation as and when required.

Bali,charged with conspiracy and corruption and booked along with Dalmiyas,had been remanded to judicial custody till March 15.
