Changing City: 76% work of New Jogeshwari terminus in Mumbai complete, station set for launch next year
The shift of express and mail trains from Mumbai Central, Dadar, and Bandra Terminus to the new Jogeshwari terminus is expected to enhance overall rail operations.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Development Scheme, the Western Railway (WR) is building a new terminus at Jogeshwari on railway land near the goods shed between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari stations on the east side.
This new terminus aims to benefit suburban passengers by providing easier access to long-distance trains and improving the punctuality of local trains operating beyond Andheri and Churchgate.
The shift of express and mail trains from Mumbai Central, Dadar, and Bandra Terminus to the new Jogeshwari Terminus is expected to enhance overall rail operations.
It will serve as a crucial link for Metro passengers traveling via the Western Express Highway. Despite several upgrades over the years, no new terminal has been built to complement the historic stations of Mumbai which cater to long-distance trains — Mumbai Central, Bandra, and Dadar Terminus.
