The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly posing as a personal assistant to a CBI official, and subsequently demanding and accepting a bribe to help him out.

CBI officials said that the accused —Sadiq Qureshi— approached a senior divisional mechanical engineer of Central Railway in Nagpur, and claimed that there was a complaint lodged against him, and if he wished to be helped in the case, then he should give him (Qureshi) Rs 20 lakh.

According to the CBI, the railway official then checked if there was a complaint against him, and when it turned out to be false, he lodged a complaint against Qureshi.
