Candidates given old question paper, MU’s distance learning institute postpones exam
While the move irked some candidates appearing for the exam, according to IDOL administration, the exam was postponed after students' request.

The Mumbai University’s Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) postponed the Financial Account examination of second semester for Master of Management Studies (MMS) students after the candidates received question paper from the first semester.
The exam is now scheduled to be held on February 11.
While the move irked some candidates appearing for the exam, according to IDOL administration, the exam was postponed after students’ request.
There were a total of 74 students appearing for the exam which was held at IDOL located in Kalina campus of Mumbai University.
One of the candidates said, “Most of us who take admission to IDOL are working professionals. The idea of distance education is because we do not have time to pursue regular mode of full-time courses, due to work. We manage to take leaves for exams. But if exams are postponed for reasons like these, it will be very difficult for us to take more leave in February.”
Some of the aggrieved candidates approached the Yuva Sena, youth wing of Shiv Sena (UBT), which then wrote a letter to the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni.
Member of Yuva Sena Pradeep Sawant, who is former Mumbai University Senate member, said, “This is a classic example of chaotic management of exams by the Mumbai University. As per the practice, three question-papers for each subject should be ready to avoid such issues. But IDOL instead postponed the exam which suggests that the question-paper may not be ready.”
Denying the allegation, IDOL administration in a written statement, said, “After realizing the mistake, we began the process to give alternative question-paper to students. But students demanded to postpone the exam.”
