Campa Cola housing row: SC gives four-week time to residents, BMC to resolve issue

SC has already set a deadline of May 31, 2014, for the residents for vacating the flats.

The Supreme Court on Monday further gave four weeks to the residents of Mumbai’s Campa Cola buildings and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to resolve the housing row.

The apex court had on January 21 given two-week time to the Campa Cola residents and the civic body in Mumbai to come up with an alternative to demolishing the 35 illegal floors spread across the seven buildings of the Worli compound.

The top court has already set a deadline of May 31, 2014, for the residents for vacating the flats since no proposal for resettlement of the residents inside the complex could be worked out.

More details awaited.
