Bombay HC grants temporary medical bail to accused Dheeraj Wadhawan

Wadhawan has been permitted to be released for eight weeks for a surgery on his spine. Wadhawan was arrested in 2020.

THE BOMBAY HIGH court on Friday granted temporary medical bail on medical grounds to Dheeraj Wadhawan, promoter of DHFL arrested by the CBI and ED in connection with Yes Bank alleged fraud case.

Wadhawan has been permitted to be released for eight weeks for a surgery on his spine. Wadhawan was arrested in 2020.

The CBI had opposed the plea filed by Wadhawan stating that there were complaints of misconduct previously by him.

His lawyers submitted that he required hospitalisation for the surgery and was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in the ED case already.

The court considered these submissions and ordered temporary bail to him for eight weeks.
