BJP MP Anil Bonde objects to posters ‘Ask about Islam’ in Amravati, lodge police complaint

BJP MP Anil Bonde has taken strong objection to a huge poster–Ask about Islam–which was put up at Amravati recently. The poster allegedly put up by IIC (Islamic Information Centre) which emerged in Amravati has upset the BJP.

Bonde raised the issue with city police. Speaking to media, Bonde said, “By putting up such posters, there is a larger motive of conversion.” Such posters have come up in dense localities dominated by Hindus, he said.

“When I contacted on the phone number mentioned on poster, I was told it was International Islam Centre. And its objective was to inform people about Islam,” he said.

However, he argued, “The police should get to the roots and find out the real objective.”

A month ago, several cities including Amravati saw ‘I love Muhammad’ posters. This led to clashes between two groups in the city. To counter it, I love Mahadev, posters were put up in city.
