Bandra-Madgaon bi-weekly train flagged off; boost for western suburbs-Konkan connect
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who attended the event via video conference, highlighted that the long-standing demand for a direct train service from the western suburbs to the Konkan region has now been met.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal Thursday flagged off the the inaugural run of the bi-weekly Bandra Terminus–Madgaon express train from Borivali railway station .
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who attended the event via video conference, highlighted that the long-standing demand for a direct train service from the western suburbs to the Konkan region has now been met.
He also noted that 12 infrastructure projects are underway in the Mumbai region, with an investment of Rs 16,240 crore. Additionally, 132 railway stations in Maharashtra are being developed under the Amrit Station Scheme, with a budget of Rs. 6,411 crore.
Goyal, who also serves as the MP for Mumbai North, expressed that the dream of Konkani residents in North Mumbai has finally been realised.
The regular service for train number 10115, Bandra Terminus – Madgaon Express, will begin on September 4.
It will depart every Wednesday and Friday at 6:50 am, arriving in Madgaon at 2:10 pm the same day.
Similarly, train number 10116, Madgaon-Bandra Terminus Express, will start running from September . It will leave Madgaon every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:40 am and reach Bandra Terminus at 11:40 pm the same day.
The train will have stops at Borivali, Vasai Road, Bhiwandi Road, Panvel, Roha, Veer, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali stations in both directions.
It will feature AC II-Tier, AC III-Tier, AC III-Tier Economy, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.
Booking for train number 10115 is now open, while reservations for train number 10116 will begin on Friday at all passenger reservation counters and on the IRCTC website, according to Western Railway.
