A BAILABLE warrant issued against former BJP MP and Malegaon 2008 blast accused, Pragya Singh Thakur, was cancelled on Thursday by a special court after she appeared before it.

“Accused number 1 is present before the court. The application depicts that she was admitted in the hospital and could not remain present before the court. Considering the reason, the bailable warrant stands cancelled,” special judge A K Lahoti said.

On November 13, 2024, the court had issued a bailable warrant against Thakur for non-appearance. Her lawyers had submitted that she was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhopal. The court had said that her presence was necessary as the final hearing is ongoing in the case. In December, however, the warrant was put on hold after NIA officers who went to serve the warrant, informed the court that she was admitted to a hospital.
