Junior badminton from September 14

The Goregaon Sports Club is all set to host the Maharashtra State junior badminton selection tournament level Open junior badminton tournament at their premises from September 14 to 18. The events will be conducted for boys and girls in the under-19 and under-17—singles and doubles in both categories. Amit Rathi Memorial TT

Top players from the city and the districts will be in action during the JVPGC-Amit Rathi Memorial All Mumbai Ranking Table Tennis tournament,which will be hosted by Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club from September 4 to 8. As introduced in the season’s opener,the MCF tournament,the cadet and midget boys’ and girls’ singles events will be played on a round-robin–cum-knockout basis. Nilesh flexes his way to title

Overcomming some stiff competition,Nilesh Nandakumar Padlekar ended up being named Kitte Bhandari Shree for the year 2011 recently. There were many potential candidates worthy of lifting the trophy,but Padlekar stood tall,beginning with him finishing on top in his group. Chetan Gurunath Salgaonkar won the best bodybuilding pose prize during the event,which was held at the Kitte Bhandari Aikyavardhak Mandali Sabhagruha at Dadar. The bodybuilding competition was conducted by P N Naik and Shiv Chattrapati awardee and secretary Nandakumar Tawade.
