Another murder in Nagpur,man dies after assault by kin

The spate of murders in the city continued on Saturday with a man being killed by his relatives following an altercation.

Sudesh Jaiswal died after being assaulted by his sister Saroj,her husband Kamalsingh Bundele and some of his relatives. Earlier in the day,they had reportedly assaulted Sudeshs wife Shanti. When Sudesh confronted his sister and husband,the latter,with the help of relatives,attacked him.

This is the fifth murder in the city in the past four days. On Friday,a man had killed his wife and daughter and had later attempted suicide. Four days ago,two persons with criminal background were murdered by a gang over past enmity.

With this,the number of murders in the city since January has reached 28. Of these,19 have happened in the past 36 days. Incidentally,many of the murders have happened within families.

An alarming number of suicides have also been reported over the past few months. While an engineering student committed suicide two days ago,a man died after jumping into a well today.
