The Antop Hill police have arrested four men who work in Bollywood movies as extras on charges of robbing a silver company courier boy in Pydhonie early this month.

Police said they had asked their informers to keep a watch for people trying to sell ornaments after a theft at an Antop Hill house on June 18,wherein four men had decamped with ornaments after tying up a 17-year-old help. They received a tip-off about two men trying to sell some jewellery on Thursday, after which they arrested the two — Anis Khan (20) and Abdul Khan (19).

On interrogation, they said they were not involved in the robbery but had looted a courier company boy on July 11. The two, with their accomplices Vijay Bobde and Mithun Bobde, had hatched a plan to rob a man travelling from Kolhapur with 9 kg silver and Rs 1 lakh in cash. They hired a car, kidnapped the man and robbed him of valuables. “Vijay was working with the victim in Kolhapur; he told Mithun about the courier man leaving for Mumbai. We have arrested Vijay and Mithun and launched a hunt for Arjun,” senior inspector Shamsher Khan Pathan said. ENS
