The Antop Hill police have arrested four men who work in Bollywood movies as extras on charges of robbing a silver company courier boy in Pydhonie early this month.
Police said they had asked their informers to keep a watch for people trying to sell ornaments after a theft at an Antop Hill house on June 18,wherein four men had decamped with ornaments after tying up a 17-year-old help. They received a tip-off about two men trying to sell some jewellery on Thursday,after which they arrested the two Anis Khan (20) and Abdul Khan (19).
On interrogation,they said they were not involved in the robbery but had looted a courier company boy on July 11. The two,with their accomplices Vijay Bobde and Mithun Bobde,had hatched a plan to rob a man travelling from Kolhapur with 9 kg silver and Rs 1 lakh in cash. They hired a car,kidnapped the man and robbed him of valuables. Vijay was working with the victim in Kolhapur; he told Mithun about the courier man leaving for Mumbai. We have arrested Vijay and Mithun and launched a hunt for Arjun, senior inspector Shamsher Khan Pathan said. ENS
