3 injured in electric scooter battery explosion in Malad
Preliminary probe has revealed that the Azmad works in a shop and the accident happened when he was charging his scooter's battery in the shop as usual and it exploded, states the FIR.

Three people including a minor were injured after an electric vehicle battery exploded in Malad on Tuesday morning.
The police have booked the owner of the two-wheeler, Azmad Siddiqui (41), who was “negligently” charging his electric bike’s battery.
Preliminary probe has revealed that the Azmad works in a shop and the accident happened when he was charging his scooter’s battery in the shop as usual and it exploded, states the FIR.
Those injured in the battery explosion have been identified as Mikhail Maniyar (17), Salauddin Khan (30) and Afroz Siddiqui (18).
According to police, Maniyar and Khan suffered stomach and leg injuries while Khan’s left leg was injured due to acid spillage from the battery.
According to Khan’s statement to the police, his brother Riyaz had come to his caterers shop in Malad East’s Sanjay Nagar area to take dengue treatment from a nearby hospital. They stayed in the shop overnight.
On September 10, at around 8:30 am, a loud explosion was heard in the shop. As Maniyar, Siddiqui and Khan were injured, the local residents extinguished the fire in the shop. They were admitted to a nearby hospital.
An FIR was registered against Azmad under Section 125(A), 125(B) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) Act at the Kurar Village police station and he was detained for further investigation.
