A 26-year-old woman died after apparently falling from a building in Borivali west on Tuesday afternoon. The police are trying to ascertain if she committed suicide. The woman,identified as Bhakti Shah,was staying with her husband Tejas (28),who works at a Belgium-based diamond firm. The couple got married three years ago and has a five-month-old son.
According to the Borivali police,they received a call around 3 pm on Tuesday informing them that a woman had jumped from a building in Jamli Lane,Borivali (west). The watchman of the building head a loud thud and rushed to the spot. The neighbours and Tejas rushed Shah to the nearby Patel Hospital,but due to the serious nature of her injuries she was taken to the Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri,where she died during treatment.
Her body has been sent to Bhagwati Hospital for post mortem examination. According to the police,the couple stayed in Belgium and came to Mumbai for Shahs delivery about seven months ago. Shahs father is also a diamond merchant and stays in Vile Parle. The couple resided on the third floor of the building along with Tejas parents.
The police have also informed Shahs parents. According to the police,the couple had a fight in the afternoon. The police have lodged a case of unnatural death and are investigating the case.
