An ad in newspapers placed by Scomi, the firm that has an agreement with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to operate the Monorail for three years, has attracted 24,000 applications for 1,000 jobs.
We received 24,000 applications for around 1000 posts. We are going through resumes and are overwhelmed by the response, said Suhaimi Yacoob,Scomis India president.
The ads were placed in dailies in northern (Delhi) and western India for posts ranging from sweepers to some in operations. We published it only in two regions and got a tremendous response, said a senior Scomi official.
