Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde (File Photo)The Cabinet sub-committee of the Industries Department, chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, approved seven mega and super mega industrial projects worth ₹81,137 crore on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister stated that the influx of investors was rising in the state. He added that these seven mega and super mega projects will generate employment for 20,000 people in the Konkan, Vidarbha, and Marathwada regions.
According to officials, the approved projects include high-tech lithium battery, electric vehicle, semiconductor chip, and fruit pulp manufacturing projects. Largescale investments will be made in Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha, resulting in the creation of 20,000 jobs.
CM Shinde mentioned that various incentives were announced under the collective incentive scheme as per the state’s industrial policy to encourage industries within the state.
Some of the major projects approved in the meeting include JSW Energy PSP XI Ltd, which will Set up a massive lithium battery manufacturing project in Nagpur with an investment of Rs 25,000 crore, creating around 5,000 jobs.
JSW Green Mobility Ltd will establish the first mega-project for electric and hybrid vehicle manufacturing in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with an investment of Rs 27,200 crore. This project aims to manufacture 500,000 electric passenger cars and 100,000 commercial vehicles annually, generating over 5,200 jobs.
RRP Electronics Company will launch an integrated semiconductor chip manufacturing project at Taloja and Panvel in Raigad, Pune, and other locations in Maharashtra. This is the first semiconductor manufacturing project in Maharashtra, with an initial investment of Rs 12,000 crore, creating more than 4,000 jobs. The project is underway at Mahape, Navi Mumbai, and is expected to become operational by September 2024 on a pilot basis.
Awada Electro Company will Implement an integrated project of solar PV modules and electrolysers worth Rs 13,647 crore at Additional MIDC, Butibori in Nagpur, and MIDC Bhokarpada, Panvel in Raigad. This renewable energy source project, based on high technology, will create over 8,000 jobs.
Pernod Ricard India Pvt Ltd plans to establish a large liquor manufacturing project worth Rs 1,785 crore at Additional Butibori MIDC, Nagpur.
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages**: Launching a significant fruit pulp and juice-based product manufacturing project in Ratnagiri with an investment of ₹1,500 crores.
These initiatives are expected to significantly boost Maharashtra’s industrial landscape and provide substantial employment opportunities across various sectors.
