14 teams to participate in Independence Cup

Defending champions Mumbai Customs and runners-up Central Railway have been seeded directly into the quarter-finals of the Independence Cup Nine-a-Side Instant Football Tournament to be played August 14 and August 15 at the at the St. Xavier’s Ground,Parel.

A total of 14 teams will be seen in action during this annual two-day event. The first round matches will be played on Wednesday from 8.00 am.

The quarter-finals encounters will commence after Flag hoisting ceremony which is scheduled for 7.30 am on Thursday. The semi-finals and finals will be played later.

The other 12 teams are Maharashtra State Police,G.M. Franco,Bombay Muslims,PIFA-Colaba,Soccer XI,Kenkre FC,Air India,Young Boys,Companeroes,Union Bank of India,Rashtriya Chemical & Fertilizers and Indian Navy.
