Trader robbed of Rs 6 lakh

The trader also opened fire at the miscreants with his .32 bore licenced revolver.

Six miscreants in a two motorcycle and a car robbed Deepak Kumar, a money exchange trader, of Rs 6 lakh after throwing chili powder in his eyes in Mullanpur late on Friday. The trader also opened fire at miscreants with his .32 bore licence revolver.

Kumar said that he along with his father Ashok Kumar was returning home on their scooter. As they reached Raikot road, six men riding two bikes and a car stopped their scooter.

He alleged that looters threw chili powder in his and his father’s eyes. In his defence, Deepak shot at miscreants with his licensed weapon.

The bullet hit one in the leg, and he fell on the ground. He added that his accomplices took the injured with them and fled towards Jagraon.

Following the FIR, Dakha Police installed several check points to  nab the accused but no arrest was made till filing of this report.

SHO Dakha Waryiam Singh said they are checking the hospitals to see if any person with a bullet wound has been admitted.
