The Voice of India fame has made her famous in the state but she says she is still the girl next door. During the first edition of the reality singing show,Arshpreet was the household name in the city and her popularity was at an all time high when she was among the first 12 contestants in the Star TV show.
“I like all the heads turning now as many people recognise me whenever I go out but that does not mean I have changed my lifestyle. It’s just that I am much more confident now,” Arshpreet beams. She is now attending regular music classes in the Ramgarhia Girls College, like any other student in MA (Vocal) first year and is now all geared up for the upcoming exams.
“I had to lose out on one academic year while the show was on air. But that was the most wonderful and memorable experience of my life. Now,I want to complete my studies,” she says.
So how did she deal with the sudden fame? “It was not at all difficult. In fact it helped me improve my personality. The whole experience of having participated in a reality show not only made me a better individual,Today I am more committed to achieve my goals,” she says.
Meanwhile, apart from lending her voice for the female version of the song ‘Char dino ka’ in the movie Jannat (which was later not included in the film), the singing sensation has already got some offers for playback singing and is hopeful of finding a big breakthrough in the tinsel town soon.
“I am planning to finish my studies and settle down in Mumbai. Since that’s where I am going to get most of what I want to do. If something comes up in between,I will try and balance it with my studies. As of now,I am already in talks with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production for a playback singing offer. There is another offer on the cards from Aadesh Srivastav’s music album. Let’s hope they materialise into reality.”
