He’s always landed himself in a dark corner. Murder,Gangster,Zeher,Kalyug,Awaarapan,Raaz,Jannat and now Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, where he plays the role of the young don Dawood Ibrahim. “I love to play roles that define a character’s strengths and I feel happy playing them. I can’t insanely dance around the bush,at least till the role doesn’t demand it,” says Emraan Hashmi, riding high on success,in another film,‘Tum Mile’,his character lives through a period of disastrous floods in Mumbai. “I can’t say much, just that it’s a love story set against the backdrop of cataclysmic July 26 ‘05 Mumbai floods,” tells Emraan. In fact, insiders have been raving about the film which has real flood scenes recreated on the streets of Mumbai. Ask him about the lighter side, and he says,“I have not received a comedy script but I would love to try that too. An actor needs to be like water, fluid and flow into anything.”
