Sugar worth Rs 3 crore seized as drive against hoarders continues

Continuing its campaign against the illegal hoarders,the Food and Supplies Department today seized 9,780 quintals of sugar worth over Rs 3 crore from a godown in Jhabewal village on the Chandigarh road.

Today,a team of Food and Supply Department led by assistant supply officer Surinder Kumar Berry and accompanied the police raided the godowns of Chandi Mall and Roshan Dass firm in Jhabewal village on Chandigarh Road under the Sahnewal police station and seized 9,780 quintals of sugar worth over Rs 3 crore.

It may be mentioned here that on Friday,the department had seized 97,500 quintals of sugar worth Rs 31 crore and on Saturday,8516 quintals of sugar was seized in raids conducted with the help of the police.
