Sewer work inconveniences residents

The digging of road to widen the sewer lines on Barewal road is posing problems for the residents of the area because the contractor failed to give any time to the residents even to take their vehicles out of the house and hence these days they are seen parking their vehicles in some other areas.

Not only this,even lack of co-ordination with the Telecom department has caused disconnection of phone cable at one corner,due to which many BSNL subscribers in Barewal road area are not able to use their phones. Digging was done on June 24 and till date,repair works have not been done,complained Maj Amarjit Singh,a resident.

The residents have asked the commissioner to issue instructions to the contractor that before starting any project in the area,they should first intimate the area residents by displaying a board so that they can make arrangements for taking out their vehicles and few other things well in advance.
