Rs 3.64 lakh stolen from car parked in front of bank,police suspicious

The thief broke the glass of the left rear window of Swift Dezire with a stone and took away the bag containing the money.

A total of Rs 3.64 lakh was allegedly stolen from a car in front of HDFC Bank,Pakhowal Road on Saturday morning. The thief broke the glass of the left rear window of Swift Dezire with a stone and took away the bag containing the money when the owner Harpreet Singh was inside the bank. Harpreet Singh,the victim said when he questioned the bank manager as to why CCTV cameras are not installed outside the bank,which is mandatory as per norms he got no satisfactory reply. He was told none of the banks in area have the facility. However,police finds the case suspicious. Sub-inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said,“We have registered a case under Section 380 of the IPC.”
