Robbers seriously injure six

Take away jewellery worth lakhs of rupees as well as Rs 70,000 in cash.

More than a dozen robbers entered the house of one Lakhbir Singh,a property dealer,on Friday night. They injured six members of this family and looted jewellery worth lakhs of rupees and Rs 70,000 in cash.

The injured persons are Lakhbir Singh,his wife Daljit Kaur,Lakhbirs brother Nirmal Singh,his wife Harpreet Kaur,Mother Mukhtair Kaur and a one-year-old child Harry. All have been admitted to hospital.

Harry sustained minor injuries while all the others are in critical condition. They have sustained injuries on the head,arms and legs.

According to the injured persons,the robbers were carrying shape weapons and jumped through the walls of the house. They attacked the persons sleeping in different rooms. The victims have not given any indication about the identification of the robbers because they were sleeping when they were attacked.

The police has registered an FIR but no clue has been obtained so far.

The sheer impunity with which the robbery was carried out has shocked residents. Worse was the fact that they not only looted jewellery and cash but also attacked the family members.
