Poor quality meat products destroyed in MC drive

The health branch of the local municipal corporation conducted a drive in various parts of the city and destroyed around 40 kg meat and 100 kg fish being sold by roadside vendors and shopkeepers. Illegal slaughter houses were also found to be operating. Dr Charanjit Singh Uppal,who led the drive,said,”In Ganesh Nagar,a man was found slaughtering a goat. As per norms,separate slaughter houses need to be made for halal and jhatka meat. His stock,which was of very poor quality,was destroyed and a challan was issued in the name of the shopkeeper.”
