The four-day Personality development camp, organised by Dr Kitchlu Branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad,Ludhiana,at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir,Kitchlu Nagar concluded here on Sunday. The camp was organised in collaboration with all the branches of the Parishad concluded here today.
Girish Garg and Ashok Garg were the chief guests on this occasion while the function was presided over by Yash Mahajan,state president of Bharat Vikas Parishad Punjab-North.
During the nights also,the participants stayed at the camp venue. They were taken care of by the female members of the Parishad. Arrangements for hygienic,nutritious,healthy and homely meals were made,which was supervised by Anil Bansal,vice-president of the branch.
The daily activities included yoga,group games,educative games,group discussion and daily cultural programme. Painting,mimicry and solo song competitions were also held.
As part of the activities at the camp,group discussion on improvement in Ludhiana was organized. The participants were divided into three groups and each group was supervised by a mentor. In the first half of the session,the children were encouraged to give their views on these issues.. In the second part,all the participants gathered together and the mentors presented the important views from the group in the full house.
This was a novel experience and the children came forward with revolutionary ideas. Not only this,they took the following solemn pledges: like I will never smoke/drink,I will persuade my elders not to smoke/drink,If my parents plan drinking on my birthday,I will not join my birthday celebrations,I will not promote begging by giving alms to the beggars,If somebody is really needy,I will help him and take him to the Viklang Sahayta Kendra being run by BVP,I will conserve water and stop wastage of power,I will not use car or motor bike for short distance etc.
