The four day training programme on New Dimensions for Agriculture Extension Management at Punjab Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) at PAU campus ended on Friday.
Fifteen Extension functionaries from Agriculture and allied state departments namely Horticulture,Dairy Development and Soil & Water Conservation attended the training. Dr M S Mahal,Director,PAMETI in his introductory remarks stressed that agricultural technology development is a dynamic process and extension functionaries must become aware of these changes and know what,when and how to deliver these to the farming community.
Dr M S Gill,Director Extension,PAU highlighted the challenges of traditional extension practices. He also spoke about newly evolved extension approaches and effective ways of transferring these to farmers.
Mohinder Singh Dosanj,a progressive farmer from Jagatpur village shared his achievements. These were in the diverse fields of agriculture. They highlighted the need for self-marketing agricultural produce.
