LIT gets 2 new SAD trustees,5 posts up for grabs

Finally after three years’ time period,Ludhiana Improvement Trust will be having new trustees.

Finally after three years’ time period,Ludhiana Improvement Trust will be having new trustees. Today,SAD announced its two trustees,Gurinderpal Singh Pappu and Naresh Dhingaan while for the remaining five vacancies,there are many in fray from both the SAD and the BJP.

Information revealed that three BJP and two SAD members will be appointed on the remaining five seats. BJP councillors Gurdeep Singh Neetu,Satish Nagar,Sunita Phainta and BJP leader Kamal Chaitly are front-runners for the posts while from the SAD,Harbhajan Singh Dang is the likely candidate.

It needs to be mentioned that after the trust was dissolved three years ago following the City Centre scam,the government did not appointed any trustee. “Now the trust activities will be revived again,we will be taking up the issues concerning masses which are lying pending form long,” said the new trustee,Gurinderpal Singh Pappu.

It needs to be mentioned that Pappu wanted to contest the councillor’s elections from ward no. 57 but he was denied ticket by the SAD.

Pappu said,“In BRS Nagar,the L block and J block residents do not have registries of their houses even after 30 years and so I will be taking up this matter on priority.”

Meanwhile,talking to The Indian Express,OP Bhardwaj,district BJP president,said,“Our core committee will be deciding about candidates for trustee posts and by Monday,we will be announcing their names.”

Meanwhile,it needs to be mentioned that out of the total seven trustees,four would be sitting councillors while three would be members of the ruling party.
