DMCH gets accreditation from American Heart Association
After being granted accreditation by the American Heart Association (AHA),DMCH will now run courses in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. The training will be imparted under the supervision of AHA’s International Training Center (ITC) and the Maulana Azad Medical College and Hospital,New Delhi. Secretary of the DMCH Managing Society,Prem Kumar Gupta,and Dr A K Agarwal,Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College and Lok Nayak Hospital,New Delhi,will inaugurate the DMCH-AHA training site on January 24.

Enhancement in retirement age: PCCTU welcomes proposal
Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers’ Union (PCCTU) has welcomed the sub-committee’s proposal to enhance the retirement age for government employees from 58 to 60. The union also welcomed the decision to release Rs 184 crore for the restoration of the pension-cum-gratuity scheme for teachers retiring after May 2003. “The government is finally fulfilling its commitment. These steps will boost the morale of the employees and improve the education system,” said Professor Vinay Sophat,Finance Secretary of PCCTU.

Robbery at Airtel office
Four armed robbers escaped with Rs 1.25 lakh from the Airtel office in Moti Nagar on Friday evening. Robin Adya,an Airtel employee,stated in his complaint that the gang members robbed all the workers and emptied the cash box as well.
No arrests have been made so far. A gunshot was reportedly fired in the air though no one was hurt.
