FASII president dies at 88
V P Chopra (88),national president,Federation of Association of Small Industries of India (FASII) passed away on Thursday. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. The bhog ceremony will be held on Sunday at Durga Mata Mandi in Sarabha Nagar.

Water samples fail purity test
The five water samples collected by the Health department from the Housefed Complex have failed the purity test. Residents are being forced to purchase mineral water to save themselves from water borne diseases. Housefed had handed over the complex to the society formed by the flat owners. The tank cleaning exercise will incur an expenditure of Rs 50,000.

Rs 65.2 crore for bus service
Ludhiana MP and the national spokesperson of the All India Congress Committee Manish Tewari said the Centre has sanctioned Rs 65.20 crore for the Ludhiana city bus service project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission Scheme. He said 50 per cent of the amount will be provided by the Centre,20 per cent by the Punjab government and 30 per cent by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.

24 LPG autos launched
Residents can now avail eco-friendly road services as 24 LPG autos were launched on Friday. People can call 6535353 to book an auto. The rate has been fixed at Rs 8 per km,said Anand Moudgil,the operator. Online booking can also be done,he added.
