Front seeks regularisation of teachers

To press upon their long pending demands,the BEd Adhyapak Front held a state-level rally at Dana Mandi near Jalandhar Bypass on Sunday.

The agitated teachers blocked traffic on the Jalandhar Bypass and demanded the regularisation of 14,000 BEd teachers,who were working on a contract basis.

Thousands of teachers from different parts of Punjab participated in the rally. To control frayed tempers,the police had to instal barricades at different places.

The people had a tough time during the period and long queues of vehicles were formed at certain places.

The teachers will be meeting Parkash Singh Badal,Chief Minister,Punjab,on August 18 to press their demands.
