Ohri said,“A patient, after surgery, loses around 30 to 40 kg in about 10 months, but they have to control their diet,in order to maintain their weight”. He added,“It is very difficult for patients to resist to their diet. On an average,I get two cases of obesity-related problems everyday”.

He also said that only if the body-mass index (BMI) was more than 32 would they recommend a patient to go for a bariatric surgery. “Before that,we try to tell the patients to control their diet and work out,” he said.
