Five dead after jeep overturns

Sub-Inspector Mohammad Jameel said,“A group of women was travelling in a Mahindra jeep. They belonged to Bano village in Moga district and were going to the area of Baba Gurmeet Singh at Jhande village. Early Sunday morning when this jeep was near Mullanpur,a scooter overtook the jeep,and the jeep which was travelling at a high speed went out of control. It overturned and hit other vehicles too.”

As per the police,the jeep first hit one Scorpio. As a result of this crash,an Innova and another Scorpio coming from behind slammed into them. The victims were travelling in the ill-fated jeep. While the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Civil Hospital for post-martem,the injured are undergoing medical treatment at private hospitals in Ludhiana and Moga.
