Ex-councillor’s son booked for causing death with rash driving

As per the police,Sumit himself has received some injuries and is currently undergoing medial treatment in a local hospital. ASI Singh added,“The impact was so great that Sumit himself was stuck inside his car and his legs were smashed under the seat. We had to pull him out of his car.”

When asked whether Sumit was drunk,Singh added,“The medical that we have done on him does not show any alcohol and neither did we find any bottle or glasses inside his car.”

32-year-old Sumit Chabra is the son of former councillor KL Chabbra,who passed away last year. Sumit is Chabra’s son from his first marriage and lives in Dugri with his wife and children.

ASI Balbir Singh says,“We have not arrested Sumit as he is in the hospital and will do that once the doctors allow him to go home.”

Singh added,“The impact with which Sumit hit the other car can be gauged from the fact that Sarabjeet’s ribs were broken,so was his thigh bone and even his spine received injuries. We have handed over the body of the deceased to his family after conducting post-mortem.”
