Out of about 500 hospitals in Ludhiana,nearly 452 have got themselves registered with the Punjab pollution control board (PPCB) to get their bio-medical waste treated at the common facility centre of private company Semb Ramky at Tajpur road. Authorisation of about 63 hospitals was granted by PPCB chairman Ravinder Singh,on Wednesday,in a seminar and camp organised on Bio Medical Waste Management at IMA House Ludhiana.

Undertrail escapes police custody

Jatinder Singh,an undertail in Ludhiana central jail,escaped police custody Wednesday while being brought back from Phillaur after a court hearing. A total of 22 FIRs are registered against Singh.Jail authorities were bringing Singh back from court on a rickshaw when he escaped and absconded in an Innova car,which was waiting for him.
