Brawl at wedding function,four hurt

A wedding function turned violent on Monday evening and left four people injured. Boys who had come to attend the function entered into a brawl at the Rachna Palace on the Ludhiana Ferozepur Road. Eyewitnesses said the fight broke out over some girls.

“Before anyone of us could make sense of what was going on,beer bottles,glasses,iron rods,chairs were being hurled at everyone. Even elders who tried to intervene where caught in the melee,”said an eyewitness. Those injured have been identified as Baldeep Singh,Gurpreet Singh,Major Singh and Gurtej Singh. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at the civil hospital.

The decked up car which was to ferry back the bride and the groom after the wedding was seen ferrying the injured. The brawl did not end at the venue and the boys belonging to the rival group went to the civil hospital too.

A case has been registered at Jagraon and incharge Mohal Lal informed that the statements of the injured had been recorded.
