The second edition of Review of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology,authored by Dr Gautam Biswas,Professor & Head of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology,was released by DMCH Managing Society Secretary Prem Gupta,Principal Dr Daljit Singh and Dean (Academics) Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina. Daljit Singh congratulated Biswas on the release of the second edition and appreciated his efforts. He also encouraged other faculty members to get involved in such academics activities.
He informed the gathering that the volume of forensic texts available is phenomenal but many are of poor quality or are factually inaccurate.
The new edition of this book on the vast subject of paramount importance reflects the eminence and competence of the author. This book has filled much needed void in medical education in forensic medicine,he added.
Dr Biswas informed that the first edition of this book was brought out in 2009. The text has been updated in this edition to meet the continuous change and additions in this subject and provides comprehensive information on forensic issues in day-to-day practice.
This textbook is written primarily to meet the needs of students of medical profession,medical officers,members of the legal profession and law-enforcement officers engaged in investigation of criminal cases.
It also gives topic-wise MCQs (from the latest PG entrance examinations) that prepares Professional MBBS students for their forthcoming entrance tests.
The book will not only serve the purpose of undergraduate medical students to the fullest extent but also be of great help to the students of Ayurveda and Homeopathy. The book will also be used as referral book for lawyers practicing criminal law.
